I wanted to give a bit of information about the scooter to help out anyone who is interested or on the fence. I have owned my GX2 for around 2 months now and already have 96 miles on it. It is a blast to ride! Lots of fun and seems very well built. it is heavy though so be ready for that! This is not a scooter you want to be carrying up and down stairs or through awkward hallways. You can fold the stem and pick it up just fine, but it is not comfortable to hold for very long. The stem is not round as with many of gotrax's other scooters, which does not help this at all.
It is MUCH more powerful than any commuter scooters I have used, especially when it is in the high power mode. In that mode it almost has enough power to peel out the tires, almost. I weigh 190lbs though, so a lighter rider might be able to peel out! It also has enough power to tackle moderate hills with ease, you won't be climbing a mountain with it, but it is FAR more capable than a commuter scooter when it comes to hills. However, As other reviewers have stated, high power mode drains the battery pretty fast. You could still ride for a while, but if you are going full throttle a lot or dealing with some serious hills I would not expect to be able to ride for more than maybe an hour. however, in normal power mode this is better.
I tested the range while in the normal power mode, on a flat bike path, while riding at moderate speeds (keeping it under 20mph), and while trying to avoid accelerating too hard. I managed to get 45 miles out of the scooter from fully charged to when the last battery bar was blinking on the display. I may have been able to go a bit farther, but didn't want to push it more than that. It performed well the entire time, though It did lose some power when it was flashing, but it was still more powerful than my G4 at that point.
the brakes work very well, you can stop on a dime if you need to. I did have to adjust them to tighten the cables up a little since riding the first 144 miles, but that is normal break-in.
The stem and stem latch feel very solid, the display is helpful and decently bright, almost too bright at night! The deck is very comfortable, at least for the way i stand. Despite it being an inch shorter in length than my previous scooter it makes up for it by being wider. It also has that flared foot rest you can push your foot back against when accelerating, which adds some extra real estate. The rubber on the deck is also nice and thick and grippy.
One thing I'm unsure of is the supposed USB port. there is a rubber cover on the underside of the display that has the USB symbol on it, however, this cover seems to be rubber cemented in place. I have peeled it most of the way off and the square hole where the USB port is, if there actually is a port in there, is completely full of a rubber cement type rubber. My friend also owns a GX2 and his is the same. Its possible both were manufacturing mishaps, but if charging your phone from the scooter is a necessary feature for you I wouldn't count on the GX2 to do it.
Overall it is a solid and powerful scooter, especially for the price! I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal for what you get. It is a blast to ride! There are some things I would change, but overall I'm very happy I bought one!
